CHEESE from Oxfordshire has swept the board at this
year's British Cheese Award and a shop in Thame is
stocking two of the star cheeses.
What's Cooking, in Thame's Cornmarket, specialises in artisan British cheeses and the award-winning cheeses never fail to delight and impress, said Sally Dickinson from the shop.

Barkham Blue, a buttery blue cow's milk cheese made by the Berkshire Creamery, Two Hoots, achieved no less than three major awards including Supreme Champion for which it beat 910 other cheeses.

It was also awarded Best Blue Cheese and Best English Cheese and went on
to gain a Gold Award in this year's World Cheese Awards where it was up against the very best of French, Spanish and Italian cheeses.

Other local cheeses have also won major awards this year. Oxford Isis, a soft cheese with a rind washed in Oxfordshire honey mead, is created by the Oxford Cheese Company in Worminghall and has been awarded the coveted Cheese Lovers' Trophy.
