BARLEY Hill School is to hold a Fun Day on Saturday between 11am and 2pm on the school's playing field.
This year's theme is "My Favourite Book" which follows on from the recent "Special Writing Week" that took place in the school. All the children have been asked to design a poster of their favourite book and there will be a prize for each year group winner plus an overall winner for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

There will be all the usual stalls and activities including: an Inflatable Assault Course, Go Karts, Pony Rides, Face Painting, Soft Toy Tombola, Hook the Duck, Splat the Rat, Coconut shy, and many more. There will be a variety of entertainment activities including a Story Telling Tent, Country Dancing, Tag Rugby and Beat the Goalie.

A wide range of refreshments options will be available including a Barbecue, Baked Potatoes, Beer Tent, Ice Creams, Hot & Cold soft drinks plus cakes and other goodies.

Thame Service Station have agreed to sponsor the event so will be bringing along some commercial hire vehicles and the Fire Brigade will be bringing a Fire Engine.

As well as being a popular event for families the Fun day is one of the PTA's most important events of the year in terms of the large amounts of organisation required and the revenue generated.

One of the aims this year is to fund the creation of a cookery area for all the children to use which will also help support the school's Healthy Eating Status. In addition they are raising funds for the re-surfacing of the school's outdoor play area .
