MAYOR of Thame, Cllr Don Bulter had a swinging success at the professional amateur golf tournament at the Oxfordshire Golf Club this week.
Cllr Butler tee'd off early on Wednesday morning after a full breakfast which was supplied by the club.

He played with a contingent of professional golfers for five-and-a-half-hours before settling down to lunch.

"I have played on-and-off for a long time and it's been a brilliant day," he said.

"The professionals were really nice people.

"Adam Bishop from the golf range in Long Crendon Road in Thame gave me a few refresher lessons before the game," he added.

BBC Oxford television news presenter Geraldine Peers also joined the crowd as her partner, David Whitbourn is also a golfer.
