Conservatives celebrate town council success

THE Conservative Party in Thame are celebrating again after securing two seats on Thame Town Council last night.
Clifford Baker and Michael Welply won the vote in the Thame South ward by-election.

There were four other candidates in the running -two from the the Labour Party and two from the Liberal Democrats.

A total of 1,173 people voted, which is about 20 per cent of the Thame South electorate.

A Thame Town Council spokesman said this was an average turnout.
